As we mentioned earlier, News channel 9 came to film us last week! The short video clip aired Monday morning, and has been posted on their website since then. Check out the video and the article! We hope this will help us in our search to find the perfect building for our track.

WOW! It's been a really long time since we've updated our blog! Well, here's what we've been up to since our last post...
We finally got our track done! With the help of our dedicated husbands, friends, family members and fans, we were able to complete construction of the track in just under 12 months. We can't tell you how proud we are to have finished in such a short time-frame. The day we finished building the darn thing, we had to break it down and ship it to Detroit, MI., to be used in Drew Barrymore's movie "Whip It!" The movie should be release sometime this spring / summer.
During our final days of construction this past summer, we had a slew of unfortunate accidents within the league. 3 of our skater's family members were injured in totally separate freak accidents, all within a week of each other! First, Kitty Killmore's son was hit by a car on his skateboard. He suffered several broken bones in his leg & skull. Then 2 days later, Suzi Uzi's husband was also hit by a car (on his bicycle), and thrown over a highway overpass, landing on the highway below. He suffered over 40 broken bones and spent a month in the hospital. While Suzi was in the ICU with her husband, Psychogenesis' husband was involved in a motorcycle accident. He suffered a broken scapula and severe road rash. We are happy to report that all injured parties are alive and well!
Although our ladies have been through a lot during the past year, they never lost sight of the longterm goals. While our track was in Detroit for 3 months, we took a couple of weeks to relax and bask in our accomplishment. Our vacation was short lived, and then it was immediately back to the grindstone. We hit the pavement running... looking for buildings to put our track in, holding fundraiser after fundraiser, all while continuing to hold practices twice a week.
We got our track back in September, and have continued to stay busy with fundraisers, events, public appearances, practices and recruitment. We participated (for the 2nd year in a row) in the OKC Gazette's Ghouls Gone Wild Halloween Parade. We had a blast! Our theme was "BANKED TRACK BACK FROM THE DEAD" and decorated a float to look like a cemetary. We also learned and performed Michael Jackson's THRILLER dance throughout the parade! (pics on our myspace) We had only a few months to learn and perfect the 5 minute dance, but the crowd was extremely impressed (so we heard). Next year we plan to perform it again.... ON SKATES!!! Because we are that bad ass.
We gave our girls some time off during the winter / holiday season to spend time with their families and relax. Now that it's a new year, we're ready to get back to business! We are still in search of the perfect building for our track (if you thought building the track was hard, try finding a place to put it!)
News 9 came to the skating rink lastnight to film us and get the update on our league. Once the story airs tonight (and tomorrow morning) we hope it will spark people's interest and lead to a prospective place to set up our track and practice.
So that's the latest on Red Dirt Rebellion Rollergirls! Check back again soon! Now that we have our website (almost) finished, we will keep our News Blog updated with all of our upcoming events, fundraisres, appearances, and whatever else we decide to post on here.
Thanks for reading!
